At Perinet, also called Andasibe, you will find the Analamazaotra Reserve, known for the Indri. The indri is the largest lemur of Madagascar and his call, you better can say ‘siren’, you can hear from far away. You also can find here one of the largest chameleons of Madagascar, the parsonii. It is also the area of the mantella aurantiaca, but for the mantella aurantiaca it was not the right season, they held their winter rest. This area was quite chilly, we did not need our sweater during the rest of the journey, but here you needed it badly. Just before Perinet we had visited a chameleon farm, beside chameleons, they also had many geckos and mantellas, also the aurantiaca.
